Miranda McCroskey
Mission Statement: To provide professional and personal service to those accused of crimes; to educate clients on the court system, their options, and to obtain the best possible results.
About the Attorney: Miranda McCroskey specializes in criminal defense, and is passionate about representing people who find themselves entangled in the criminal court system. Ms. McCroskey was raised in Southern California, and received her B.A. degree from University of California at Santa Barbara in 1992 after spending her junior year in Barcelona, Spain. In 1996, she graduated from Los Angeles’ Loyola Law School with her Juris Doctor degree.
Upon graduation from law school, Ms. McCroskey created a position with the Los Angeles County Bar Associations’ Domestic Violence Project as a staff attorney, and obtained funding for a year’s position from a number of Southern California foundations. In 1997 she was among the first class of attorneys hired by the United States Probation Department as federal sentencing guideline specialists, analyzing the federal sentencing guidelines for federal judges. Ms. McCroskey is also a former Orange County Public Defender.
In private practice, Ms. McCroskey focused on white-collar defense, and represented both individuals and corporations in state and federal court. She also has experience in administrative law matters, mostly in regard to licensing issues of health care professionals. In addition to criminal work, Ms. McCroskey has also represented public agencies (primarily local school districts) in bond work and land acquisition, practiced general civil law, and family law matters.
Currently, her practice focus is on state crimes (misdemeanors or felonies). She has represented hundreds of clients in a wide variety of criminal matters, and successfully litigated on their behalf throughout Southern California. Ms. McCroskey is an outgoing personable attorney who is well-respected by judges, district attorneys, and private defense lawyers around southern California. She personally handles every case, and works hard to secure the best possible outcomes for her clients.
Ms. McCroskey is admitted to practice in all federal and state courts in the state of California, as well as the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She is a former or current member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Women’s Law Association, American Bar Association, Newport Harbor Bar Association, and the West Bar Association.
Contributing to the community is a passion for Ms. McCroskey. She has been an active member of the Orange County Big Brothers and Sisters since 2000; Legal Counsel for the Newport Junior Chamber of Commerce (“Jaycees”) since 2003; Chair of the Jaycees’ signature Adopt-A-Family project for the past five years; and is a leadership coach for Landmark Education.
